I get a lot of questions from customers asking where we are located and if they can come pick up their orders. We are a "closed bakery" located in Northern Lake County. We are not open to public access. The reason we have a closed bakery is it allows us to have very little overhead, no shop rent, and no staff costs for keeping a shop open. We only fire up the ovens when we have orders to bake. This is why our costs are substantially lower than other "commercial bakeries" that have shops where a customer can come to pick up their orders.
Also, we do deliver for a very minimal cost. We will deliver anywhere in Lake, Cook and McHenry counties. We will ship anywhere in the US.

Yep, you guessed it...nothing. Ever heard of Randy Pausch? What a fantastic human being he was. I was so glad for the opportunity to see him give his Last Lecture on the Oprah Show. His Last Lecture (<-- click to see) is the perfect example of someone who saw life as a constant positive, never a negative...you know, the glass half full crowd? This wasn't about dying, but about living from a man who happened to be dying. He said to believe in your childhood dreams.
Sugar Beez is my childhood dream and I have been timidly waiting for it to do something...watching it...sort of similar to watching grass grow! BORING! And guess what, nothing was really happening, because nothing was really going into it.
Time for me to stop doing nothing and start doing something. I have begun to reach out to others in an attempt to network, take chances and learn from the rejections. And I'm not going to take the rejections as a negative...heck, I didnt want to make cookies for them anyway! I need to put myself out there and take chances or no one is going to see poor little Sugar Beez hiding in its hive, right?
